NAOMI ISKRA
Barrister & Solicitor
Founder
I am the founder of Keystone Legal, a boutique practice providing strategic legal counsel in matters where personal relationships, financial structures, and long-term planning intersect. My work focuses on complex family, estate, and private client matters involving privately held corporations, professional practices, investment portfolios, and intergenerational wealth structures.
Clients frequently retain me during significant transitions, including separation involving substantial financial assets, estate planning, probate administration, business succession, and governance restructuring. These matters often involve multiple asset classes and require coordinated legal analysis across family, estate, corporate, and financial frameworks.
Prior to entering legal practice, I was an equity partner and served in executive leadership within a professional corporation that completed a significant eight-figure acquisition by a national consolidator. As an equity partner in the ownership group, I held direct responsibility for governance oversight, operational strategy, and the ownership transition process. This experience informs my perspective on matters involving business interests, fiduciary obligations, financial structures, and long-term planning.
During my legal training I gained courtroom experience through litigation matters that required preparation of legal materials, procedural advocacy, and participation in contested proceedings. That experience established the litigation foundations necessary to navigate complex disputes and informs my strategic approach to negotiation and resolution.
In addition to traditional private client work, I also advise founders, creators, and privately held businesses on intellectual property strategy and agreements involving digital enterprises and creative industries. These matters often intersect with broader questions of business ownership, family wealth, and long-term financial planning.
My approach emphasizes disciplined preparation, careful negotiation, and durable resolution. The objective is not escalation, but carefully structured outcomes designed to protect long-term financial and personal stability.
I hold both a Juris Doctor and a Bachelor of Civil Law from McGill University’s Faculty of Law, widely regarded as one of the world’s premier legal institutions. I also hold an Honours Bachelor of Arts in French Studies and a Bachelor of Education from York University’s bilingual Glendon College, where I graduated with First Class Standing and ranked among the top twenty students in a graduating class of approximately four hundred.
Raised in southern France and educated in Canada, I provide legal services in both English and French and advise clients across Alberta through a discreet and efficient practice platform. Growing up along a stage of the Tour de France route, where the cyclists passed directly beneath my bedroom window, left a lasting impression and helped shape my appreciation for discipline, endurance, and sustained effort.
Outside of legal practice, I am a devoted mother to young children and an active member of the Cochrane community. I maintain longstanding commitments to disciplines that emphasize rigour and cultural tradition, including Ori Tahiti, the traditional dance of French Polynesia, and an advanced yoga practice with roots in competitive gymnastics and further study in India.
I am retained by individuals, families, founders, and private businesses seeking disciplined legal guidance in matters requiring discretion, strategic clarity, and thoughtful long-term planning.
