Naomi Iskra is the founder of Keystone Legal, a boutique firm advising and representing clients across Alberta in matters where personal relationships, private wealth, business interests, and long-term planning intersect. The practice covers contested litigation and resolution-focused advisory work in equal measure, and it is built on judgment formed on both sides of the table: as counsel, and as an owner who built, ran, and sold a business of her own.

On the family side, she acts in divorce and separation, parenting disputes, child and spousal support, division of family property, and emergency protection and restraining order applications. On the estates side, her work includes estate administration, will challenges, undue influence claims, executor disputes, and contested passings of accounts. Her commercial litigation practice spans shareholder, partnership, and contract disputes involving closely held businesses, and she brings civil claims arising from intimate partner violence, harassment, and defamation, including cease and desist letters and injunctive relief. She also appears in professional discipline proceedings, represents clients in mediation and arbitration, and acts in the Alberta Court of Justice and the Alberta Court of King’s Bench when required.

Her approach emphasizes disciplined preparation, command of the financial and evidentiary record, and rigorous application of the disclosure obligations and procedural rules governing each matter. Where settlement serves the client, she negotiates from a position of preparation rather than posture. Where contested proceedings are necessary, she advances the file through the application, trial, and appeal stages.

Her advisory practice serves founders, professionals, athletes, entertainers, creators, and privately held businesses across private client and wealth planning, estate planning and administration, business and governance, intellectual property and creative matters, sports, entertainment and digital media, privacy, and professional discipline. That work includes contract negotiation, endorsement and sponsorship arrangements, image and likeness matters, intellectual property strategy, ownership and governance structure, and the protection of personal and commercial reputation. Clients retain her during periods of significant transition requiring discretion, strategic clarity, and careful coordination across personal, financial, and corporate interests.

Before entering legal practice, Naomi was an equity partner and executive leader in a professional corporation, and worked through diligence, negotiation, and closing from the ownership side when the corporation was acquired by a national consolidator in an eight-figure transaction in 2024. That experience gave her direct command of governance, ownership transitions, and deal structuring, along with corporate financial statements, tax filings, and the structures through which income and assets move in closely held enterprises. That commercial fluency carries into her advisory, negotiation, and contested work alike.

Naomi holds a Juris Doctor and a Bachelor of Civil Law from McGill University’s Faculty of Law in Montreal, the oldest law school in Canada and among the world’s leading law faculties, where the integrated program trains lawyers to work fluently across the common law and civil law traditions. Her legal training rests on a fully bilingual formation: educated in France through the baccalauréat, she went on to earn an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Études françaises with First Class Standing, a Bachelor of Education in French as a Second Language, and a Certificate of Bilingualism, all from York University’s Glendon College in Toronto. She is a member of the Law Society of Alberta and provides legal services in English and French across the province.
